- In all three problem pages there is a large, obvious photograph of the Agony Aunt of that particular article and this helps the readers visualise and connect with the answers.
- It is common for a problem page to have a strap line with a slogan or phrase to add to the effect and design of the article.
- They are all very female orientated with thier girly colours and designs (e.g. pinks, yellows and purples.)
- There is also a large title that is commonly of the Agony Aunts name or some connection to their name.
- Additionally there are usually 3 or 4 more pictures that are linked to the dilemmas or issued raised in the article.
- All of the problem pages are written in columns or boxes with borders.
- The Question is written in a contrasting colour to the Answer and this helps the reader distinguish between them.
- Drop caps (the large first letter of the column)
- Some of the articles have quotes from within the articles ''pulled out'' in order to engage the reader.
- The writer of the article always reflects the issues or dilemmas included in the article and they also are linked to their target audience. (e.g. Dr Christian - Health Issues)
- Some problem pages have references to other idols that reflect their target audience.
- All of the problem pages are bright and colourful and this makes them friendly and inviting and tries to make the pages a little less depressing or sad and try to cheer up or help others be more positive.
- They also use a lot of rhetorical questions and this makes us reflect on our own lives, even if we did not ask the question ourselves, we can normally link or reflect from it.
- There are always a number of cheesy phrases or slogans.
- A lot of the problem pages mention people star signs and their horoscopes and talk about the influences of them.
