In my completed Problem Page I have tried to use a lot of different magazine conventions, such as writing in columns, a large picture of the agony aunt, pictures relating to the issues, drop caps, a strap line, a slogan and headlines. My design for my problem page was very similar to the Dr Christian example we looked at in class because I thought that that problem page was very trendy and worked very well and also thought that it would work good with my own page.
I chose to have the image of the agony aunt very large as I think that this design feature makes the page look very natural and it helps the lay out of the page be a lot more smooth and concise as it helps separate the two different issues.
I think my page was successful as it used a wide range of the key aspects of a problem page, however it does not look very professional and I would not want to read this article if I brought this magazine myself.
I think I need to work on my photography and using appropriate pictures that add an affect to my article, I also need to work on my colour scheme as I don't think the page was very interesting or engaging and maybe having a more colourful page or a coloured background would help this. I also need to work on the contents of the article as it was very cheesy and I think next time I will spend a lot more time and thought on my articles its self as it is one of the most important parts of the page.
I think that the layout of the article was my biggest achievement but my biggest weakness was making my page look professional aswell as exciting.
In my main coursework portfolio I will hopefully learn how to use more advanced technology and hopefully my photo editing skills will improve because of this as well as my overall look of the magazine. I also plan on improving my colour scheme and using more boxes and shapes to make my magazine more exciting for the readers.
Overall, I think my ''Ask Anna'' page was quite successful considering I am very new to media and this was a first attempt that we only had one week to do. I think I have taken away a lot of good advice and improvements that will help me with our next task. I really enjoyed doing this project and I think that I will enjoy our next project even more.
